Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is a SchoolKid Chronicle?

A. A SchoolKid Chronicle is an interview of your child that is produced annually on a customized DVD. Over the years, we create a documentary-style video of your child’s educational, emotional and physical growth through uniquely structured one-on-one interviews. The concept is similar to that of school pictures with the primary difference being our chronicles are a living, breathing reminder of how your child looks, thinks and feels at a particular time in his or her development. See our section on What is a Chronicle? for more information.

Q. How can I schedule an appointment?

A. Use our online schedule chronicle(s) or call 336.698.3888 to schedule a chronicle.

Q. What should my child wear for the interview?

A. Dress your child in something he or she is comfortable in, but please, no solid white as it doesn't come off well on camera and can cause lighting issues. Also, stay away from busy patterns. It takes away from the child's eyes. Solid colors are great!

Q. Who developed the questions?

A. All the questions were developed by a team of educators and child therapists.

Q. How can I be assured no one else can view my child's chronicle online?

A. Each participant will choose his or her own username and password making it unique to only them. This ensures no one else can access your child's video footage.

Q. How are the chronicles archived and stored?

A. Once a chronicle is recorded onto a digital video tape it is burned onto a DVD. Then the chronicle is backed up to a hard copy DVD which is stored in a secure, off-site location. The digital file is stored on an external file server. We do not release the stored copies to anyone, ever, except in the case the parent has granted permission to SchoolKid Chronicles to release it to child safety organizations in case of emergency. SKC is dedicated to ensuring complete and total privacy to all our customers.
