Giving parents and educators direction on how your children best learn
Learning modalities
Learning modalities are descriptions of how your child best communicates; such as listening, seeing or feeling. If asked to describe movie popcorn, they might describe what it sounds like when it pops, how it looks, or how it tastes. With the carefully designed interview, we gain insight into how each person thinks/learns by their descriptive choices. Whether visual, auditory, or hands-on, we can apply our best effort toward teaching each child once we are aware of the mode that gives them the best chance of a successful learning experience.
We believe participating in a personal interview, then seeing and hearing yourself in playback is a tremendous self-teaching tool. As strengths and weaknesses are identified, we can take steps to learn in our preferred mode for each topic, grasping it more readily. Successes and confidences are built upon each other. Did you have a favorite teacher? Chances are they were your favorite because you were successful in their class. We also believe experiencing ourselves on camera enhances presentation skills, which leads to higher grades on every project or assignment where public speaking or interviewing are involved. This is a critical part of Schoolkid Chronicles' mission statement....to make a positive difference.
